Updated 22nd September 2021. Please read on for the latest news on the covid-19 vaccination programme.
The NHS has started to send out text messages and emails inviting patients to book a booster vaccination through the national booking service, either online or by calling 119.
Please note that there are currently no local venues offering appointments through the national booking service. Locally it is likely that the Hexham Mart site will re-open in the coming 2-3 weeks to offer booster vaccinations. We are unsure at the present time whether the reopened Mart site will be using the national booking service or if local GP Practices will be contactng patients to make appointments, just as we did for the first phase of the programme from December to June. This article will be updated once we know more.
Please note that even when the Mart site reopens it will not be offering flu vaccinations. We are continuing to book our flu clinics and patients are advised to book their flu jab while they wait for their covid vaccination. The advice from the NHS is not to delay getting your flu jab.
